The new Conservative administration at Westminster City Council has a clear message for the development and investment community. They want to build. They want to deliver growth. And they want to work with business to do it.

Earlier this month, Lowick Hedry — in partnership with Mount Anvil — hosted the first collective public outing of the new administration. Cllr Paul Swaddle OBE, Leader of Westminster City Council, set out his priorities alongside his full Cabinet. It was a significant moment: the whole administration in one room, setting out its stall to the people who develop, invest and operate across the city.

The Cabinet turned out in force. Cllr Timothy Barnes, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Growth and Planning. Cllr Jim Glen, Chair of Planning. Cllr David Harvey, Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration. Cllr Caroline Sargent, Cllr Tim Mitchell, Cllr Lorraine Dean and Cllr Mark Shearer were all there.

The message was unambiguous. Westminster is ready to get development moving again, in partnership with business and investors, with growth at the heart of what the new administration intends to deliver.
